NEW AN­GLE PRIZE

The New An­gle prize for Lit­er­a­ture is a £2,500 bi­en­nial award spon­sored by Gotelee So­lic­i­tors and Scrut­ton Bland Fi­nan­cial Ser­vices, for a book of lit­er­ary merit set in or in­flu­enced by the re­gion of East Anglia.

The 2017 judges’ short-list of six books was an­nounced in March. They are: Threads, The Del­i­cate Life of John Craske by Ju­lia Black­burn; The Crime Writer by Jill Daw­son; Mid­win­ter by Fiona Mel­rose; The Stopped Heart by Julie My­er­son; The Es­sex Ser­pent by Sarah Perry; Sand­lands by Rosy Thorn­ton.

The judges are Midge Gilles, Steve Rus­sell and Kate Wors­ley.
