How did you choose your current career? When I left university I managed a leisure centre and while there I organised an event, I was then hooked! In my event organising career I’ve worked with some fantastic clients including Jaguar Cars, I got to drive some fabulous vehicles and in locations such as Saint-Tropez! Then working for the National Trust to support properties to develop their corporate and weddings business sparked off an interest in historic places. My current role at The Ickworth Hotel is the perfect combination; organising events in such a special and historic building and working with inspiring and skilled people.

In your working lifetime, how do you perceive things have changed for women?

I’ve had past experiences where I haven’t felt I’ve been respected due to my gender but now I’m doubtful that I would experience that again and if I did I would feel empowered to stand up for my myself. I truly believe that it’s exciting times for women.

Who inspires you most, personally and professionally?

Cheryl Strayed (she undertook a 1,100-mile hike on the Pacific Crest Trail in America in 1995 on her own). She went on a journey of self-discovery and development. When I finished the book I felt I could conquer anything. Ickworth hotel, Horringer, Bury Saint Edmunds IP29 5QE 01284 735350
