HANNAH COOPER

EADT Suffolk - - Women In Business -

How did you choose your current career? After leaving University and moving to London in my early twenties, I entered into the world of Estate Agency after a chance meeting with a partner of Lords Estate Agency. My love of property and naturally chatty persona enabled me to find the right role from a relatively early age and after nearly twenty years, I still thoroughly love what I do; being able to visit beautiful homes and offer good advice to clients is exceptionally rewarding and I could not imagine doing anything else! In your working lifetime, how do you perceive things have changed for women? Within my industry, I am proud to say that we are seeing more female leaders and managers. As a wife and mother, it is difficult to get the right balance but I feel it is possible with a supportive family and a company who recognises what women bring to the workplace. Although there are still some discrepancies in terms of equal opportunities, things have come on a long way during my working lifetime. Who inspires you most, personally and professionally? I grew up on a farm, which from a young age installed the importance of hard work; I saw how hard my parents worked. As I got older, my parents encouraged me to travel and never shy away from any opportunity. Professionally, I have an amazing support team at S&P, in particular a colleague, Tim Fagan, who is always on hand to offer his guidance. 11 Museum Street IP1 1HH Ipswich Tel: 01473 220444 www.struttandparker.com
