Another Suffolk Feast
Food writer Tessa Allingham – a regular contributor to Suffolk Magazine – has released her latest book Suffolk Feast: One County, Twenty Chefs, a second edition of the sell-out original published in 2015.
The book profiles some favourite Suffolk chefs, insightful interviews that explore their vital relationships with local producers. Packed with stunning photography by Phil Morley, it includes recipes and champions Suffolk produce from field to fork. More than just a cookbook, it’s a comprehensive food lovers’ guide to the county and a must-have for anyone who loves eating in this region.
As well as her own words, Tessa has sought contributions from respected local journalists Linda Duffin and Frances Hopewell-Smith. Together they have created a passionately enthusiastic celebration of Suffolk’s food and farming heritage, as well as the extraordinary skills of some of its chefs.
Nineteen of the 20 chefs featured in the book came out of their kitchens for the launch (one chef was unwell) hosted by Hintlesham Hall, together with local producers and media. They enjoyed a fizz and canapé reception prepared by chef Alan Ford and his team.
“Putting together this book has been a joy from start to finish,” says Tessa. “We are hugely grateful to our 20 chefs and producers for telling us their stories and sharing their favourite recipes. We hope you enjoy recreating them – and of course eating in the fabulous restaurants!”
Suffolk Feast, with a foreword by jockey Frankie Dettori, is on sale at the 20 profiled restaurants and at good retailers, priced £24.50.
