EADT Suffolk - - BOOKSHELF - Felixstowebookfestival.co.uk

The Felixstowe Book Festival may not be in the Orwell Hotel this year, but bestselling authors and local writers will be speaking to audiences through online talks and discussions.

“We waited as long as we could to see how the situation regarding Coronavirus worked out,” says festival director, Meg Reid. “It was a huge relief that everyone, the committee, all our enthusiastic volunteers, sponsors and some of the authors, have been able to work together to create a virtual Felixstowe Book Festival for the weekend of June 27-28.”

Newsreader George Alagiah and actress Carol Drinkwater will be talking about their latest novels, while Liz Trenow will introduce her story about wartime Bawdsey, and Nick Cottam will be presenting his book on the River Deben. There are crime writers, historians and children’s activities too.

Anyone can view the talks and there will be opportunities to ask questions and contribute through social media.
