EK Central South voters have their say

East Kilbride News - - ELECTION SPECIAL -

The News took to the streets in the East Kilbride Central South ward to hear what voters wanted to change, what they would like to see happen following the election and if they would be heading to the polls.

Alec Lees

“I’ve lived here for over 50 years and I’m happy with the way things are just now.

“I moved here from Glasgow originally and things have improved, definitely.

“I will vote at the elections – but I just don’t know who for yet.”

Jean Brown

“I think it’s a nice area and there has been a lot of improvements over the last few years.

“The Murray Square is now a place where you can go and have a tea or a coffee.

“I haven’t really thought about voting yet but the area is getting better.”

John Thomson

“Litter is the big one for me. You can’t go anywhere in East Kilbride without seeing stacks of litter everywhere.

“People coming to The Murray Square, or even if you’re just driving in on the Expressway, only see litter.

“It’s a terrible first impression.”

Amanda Reid

“I want to see more CCTV cameras in The Murray Square.

“There hasn’t been too much trouble recently – but if there was something it’s important to catch them.

“Every other square or centre in East Kilbride seems to have more security measures, so why not here?”
