Safety first for Claremont ramblers
High route the route found the terrain difficult. It was agreed that the replacement walk would be Ardgarten to Lochgoilhead, an excursion of 10 miles.
The alternative walk became Glen Croe with a mileage of six. This outing started at the beginning of the old Rest and be Thankful road.
The morning coffee stop was in Dumbarton and the social hour was in Lochgoilhead.
The forecast rain did not appear until the end, when members were under cover.
Claremont’s ramblers will enjoy their annual trip away at Patterdale in the Lake District this weekend and this is fully booked.
The club’s next outing will be on Sunday, May 7, heading from Ben A’an to Loch Katrine.
The next club night will be on Tuesday, April 25, when Irene Dick will be guest speaker on the subject ‘Gie’s a Job’.
This will be held in Claremont Church at 7.30pm.
