Safety first for Clare­mont ram­blers

High route the route found the ter­rain dif­fi­cult. It was agreed that the re­place­ment walk would be Ardgarten to Lochgoil­head, an ex­cur­sion of 10 miles.

The al­ter­na­tive walk be­came Glen Croe with a mileage of six. This out­ing started at the be­gin­ning of the old Rest and be Thank­ful road.

The morn­ing cof­fee stop was in Dum­bar­ton and the so­cial hour was in Lochgoil­head.

The fore­cast rain did not ap­pear un­til the end, when mem­bers were un­der cover.

Clare­mont’s ram­blers will en­joy their an­nual trip away at Pat­terdale in the Lake Dis­trict this week­end and this is fully booked.

The club’s next out­ing will be on Sun­day, May 7, head­ing from Ben A’an to Loch Katrine.

The next club night will be on Tues­day, April 25, when Irene Dick will be guest speaker on the sub­ject ‘Gie’s a Job’.

This will be held in Clare­mont Church at 7.30pm.
