Star Tracker standings
There was little change in the Star Tracker standings this week as leader Craig Malcolm extended his lead at the top by a point to open up a 35-point gap over Chris Erskine.
Malcolm played the full 90 minutes in Stranraer’s 2-1 win over Airdrieonians on Saturday, but his two appearance points were halved after he picked up a booking.
However, nearest rival Chris Erskine couldn’t capitalise as Partick Thistle lost 2-0 to Rangers at Ibrox.
Erskine came on as a 51st minute substitute, but his solitary point for the day was cancelled out by a booking, keeping him on 67 points. It leaves Malcolm
in a commanding position to pick up our Star Tracker prize of a £100 gift card from EK East Kilbride.
Meanwhile, the battle for third spot is hotting up after fourth-place Mark McGuigan scored in Stranraer’s victory. It takes the striker to three goals for the season and, coupled with his appearance points, he earned six points in total to move within three of their place Jamie Longworth.
Longworth earned a point for a substitute appearance in Alloa’s 6-1 thrashing of Brechin, while his goalkeeper Neil Parry scored zero after his goal concession cancelled out his appearance points. Parry remains fifth, well behind McGuigan and 14 points clear of second bottom Fraser Kerr.
