Paul McConnochie loves East Kilbride because of all the great sports clubs the in town.

Paul, from St Leonards, played for East Kilbride YM, was on the committee at East Kilbride Thistle and thinks the local clubs are something everyone should be proud of.

The football fanatic is also a keen follower of East Kilbride’s Lowland League outfit – who are in with a chance of promotion to League Two.

He told the News he is crossing his fingers for another big moment for the club and said: “East Kilbride has always had some great teams and have been crying out for a team to be in the football league. “It’s a great thing for the town.” Paul has lived in East Kilbride for most of his life – and thinks there is a real community feel about the place.

“People are friendly here or at least that’s what I’ve always found, ”he said.
