Offender tolearn herfate

A repeat drink-driving offender who assaulted her husband and son will learn her fate next week.

Sentence was deferred on Patricia Kirk, 51, who slapped her husband on the face, threw a glass at him, causing fragments to strike his body, and threw water over him while he was sleeping, all in the space of a year at her former address in Palmer Crescent, Strathaven.

She also attacked her own son by throwing a glass bottle at him late in 2015.

Kirk pleaded guilty to two counts of assault against her husband and a charge of threatening behaviour towards him and admitted the assault on her son.

Kirk, now of Main Street, Wishaw, also appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court on drink driving charges.

On November 12, 2014 at Scotmid in Waterside Street, Strathaven and in Palmer Crescent, she got behind the wheel while nearly five times the legal limit. A roadside breath test recorded 108 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of her breath. The legal limit is 22mcg.

Kirk, who was handed a 10year driving ban in January 2015 for drink driving while on bail, will learn her fate on May 3.
