Denies causing fear and alarm

A West Mains man has appeared in court accused of causing his partner fear and alarm.

Mark Hillan, 52, is alleged to have repeatedly attempted to record her using his mobile phone; repeatedly phoned her; repeatedly sent her texts; repeatedly phoned her female friend and shouted, swore and made derogatory remarks.

It is claimed the alleged incidents happened at his Kirktonholme Road home between April 3 and April 9.

He denied the charge at Hamilton Sheriff Court and was bailed.

Hillan will next appear on June 5 and is expected to stand trial on June 30.
