Strathaven has a hoot

East Kilbride News - - FRONT PAGE -

The sun shone on Strathaven Show with a day of fun for the whole family.

Cattle, poultry, sheep, goats and horses were all on display – with pipe bands and dancers entertaining the crowds.

There was also a novelty dog show, judging what pooch had the ‘waggiest tail,’ could perform the best trick, and even an award for the dog with the ‘happiest expression’.

There was also a prize for bestdressed dog and handler.

Rosettes were also handed out for baking, produce and handcrafts.

At the end of the day, a Holstein Friesian from Hugh Neilson of East Brackenridge Farm was crowned champion of champions by judge William Barrie from Strathaven.
