Attempted murder arrest
A 22-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an attempted murder in East Kilbride.
The News reported how an early-morning attack at a house in Lindsayfield last month left a 25-year-old man seriously injured.
Police said they were treating the incident as attempted murder.
The local man was believed to have been stabbed at a house party in Applegate Drive at around 1.45am on Sunday, August 6.
The property was sealed off throughout the day while detectives assessed the scene and officers carried out door-to-door enquiries in a bid to try and find out what happened.
The alleged victim was taken to Hairmyres Hospital where he is understood to have undergone surgery. Staff described his condition at the time as ‘serious’.
Officers said at the time they were following a positive line of inquiry.
They appealed to anyone with information on the incident to come forward.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said this week: “A 25-year-old man was seriously assaulted around 1.45am on Sunday, August 6 in Applegate Drive, East Kilbride.
“A 22-year-old man is subject of a report to the procurator fiscal in connection with this incident.”
