A man suffered cuts and bruises after an alleged latenight attack outside the British Legion in East Kilbride.
The 57-year-old was leaving the social club at Bosfield Place in East Mains at around 11pm on Sunday when it is said he was punched to the face and knocked to the ground by a male assailant.
Police were alerted to the scene and traced a suspect a short time later.
PC Lucie Black said the man was left badly shaken by what happened.
A 62-year-old man has been reported to the procurator fiscal in connection with the incident.
