Charity disco for cycling duo

An East Kilbride duo who will get on their bikes next year in a bid to beat cancer are holding a charity night as part of their fundraising effort.

Juli e Smith, along with her friend Karen, are taking part in the Women V Cancer Cycle India Challenge organised by action for charity.

It is an arduous 450-kilometre ride through rural Rajasthan in India.

The women have been busy training and will raise funds for three charities – Jo’s Cer vical Trust, Breast Cancer Care and Ovarian Cancer Action.

To kick off the fundraising drive, there will be a disco at Legion Scotland’s East Kilbride branch on Saturday, October 28 at 7.30pm.

The women are looking for local businesses to support then with donations of raffle prizes for the charity night.
