Anger at lollipop cuts East Kilbride News online readers gave their thoughts on South Lanarkshire Council’s plans to cut 22 lollipop patrols – including two in East Kilbride.
Vic Fulton said:“They took away the lollipop lady right at the garage at St Leonards Square and when consulted about another crossing we were told it wasn’t busy enough!” Michael Mcluskey said:“Cynical. “Following protests from parents, the council agreed to review prior to local elections and lo and behold the outcome is that there is no requirement for school crossing patrol.
“No provision for zebra crossing and deafening silence from our locally elected representatives.”
