Knife charge de­nied

Trial was set for a Green­hills man ac­cused of bran­dish­ing a knife.

Stu­art Had­den, 36, of Oak Av­enue, de­nied be­hav­ing in a threat­en­ing or abu­sive man­ner on June 16, al­legedly shout­ing and swear­ing, mak­ing threats of vi­o­lence and bran­dish­ing the weapon on The Mur­ray Road.

He then went on to plead not guilty to a charge of be­ing in pos­ses­sion of an of­fen­sive weapon on the same date.

And Had­den de­nied a fur­ther charge of shout­ing and swear­ing at po­lice of­fi­cers both at The Mur­ray Road and at Cath­cart po­lice sta­tion.

Mean­while, the ac­cused pled not guilty to a fourth charge of lung­ing at and at­tempt­ing to head­butt a po­lice of­fi­cer, also at The Mur­ray Road and at the po­lice sta­tion.

Had­den de­nied all of the charges when he made an ap­pear­ance at Hamil­ton Sher­iff Court.

Trial has been sched­uled for Novem­ber 1.
