Ayr they go on ex­cur­sion

It was des­ti­na­tion Ayr­shire for Clare­mont Ram­bling Club’s latest ex­cur­sion.

Mem­bers fol­lowed a route along the River Ayr Way, start­ing from the bot­tom of Glen Buck Loch and fin­ish­ing eight miles later, at Well­wood elec­tri­cal sub-sta­tion.

The al­ter­na­tive group had the op­por­tu­nity to fin­ish 4.5 miles within this route at Kames car­a­van park where the bar/café of­fered re­spite and suit­able re­fresh­ments.

Weather over­all was rea­son­able for this time of the year, how­ever, not to­tally dry but rather warm.

The morn­ing cof­fee stop was taken at Cairn Lodge Ser­vices, Hap­pen­don, and the so­cial hour was at Kames car­a­van park bar/café.

In­di­vid­u­als wish­ing to join ei­ther walks or club nights can be as­sured of a warm and friendly wel­come.
