Pirates recruiting

East Kilbride Pirates women’s team are looking for new players aged 17 and over to join the team ahead of the 2018 contact season starting in February.

The women’s team play contact football in the British American Football Association’s Sapphire Series tournaments from February to April and are one of only two organisations in Scotland to offer a women’s only team.

Pirates chair Amanda McDonald said: “No experience or equipment is needed and the beauty of American Football is there’s a position for everyone – no matter what size or shape.”

The Pirates are also recruiting for their youth teams for the 2018 season.

The club offer full contact American Football for youngsters aged between 13 and 16 and non-contact flag football for children aged 10 to 13.
