Un­in­vited man en­tered a flat

A man who en­tered a flat in The Mur­ray un­in­vited has avoided a jail term.

Robert Souter ap­peared at Hamil­ton Sher­iff Court for sen­tenc­ing hav­ing be­ing found guilty at his trial of en­ter­ing the Lid­dell Grove prop­erty on April 18 with­out per­mis­sion.

While there, the 41-yearold be­haved in a threat­en­ing man­ner and made threats to re­move prop­erty.

A charge that Souter en­tered the home and tried to steal a TV was dropped.

Sher­iff Thomas Mil­lar put Souter, of Som­merville Ter­race, on a three-month re­stric­tion of lib­erty or­der. He must re­main in his home for the next three months be­tween 7pm and 7am.
