“It will be a totally different game,” says Rovers boss

East Kilbride News - - MOTORS -

Albion Rovers boss Brian Kerr is welcoming a break from the league – and hopes a Scottish Cup win over East Kilbride can inspire a good run.

The Coatbridge outfit haven’t won a game since the end of September, but travel across Lanarkshire hoping to spark some life into their season.

Earlier in the campaign, Kerr’s men enjoyed a convincing 5-2 win at K-Park, however, the former Scotland cap believes it won’t be as comfortable a day for Rovers as it was when the sides met in the group stages of the Betfred Cup.

“It will be a totally different game from the start of the season,”he told the News.

“We have both had a lot more game time since then and Billy (Stark) will have them well organised.”

Rovers have won just one of their last five Scottish Cup outings but Kerr, who signed ex-EK stars Joao Victoria and Craig McLeish this season, believes their cup duties will be a welcome reprieve from their poor run of form in League One.
