Tony joins in time for cup clash

East Kilbride News - - MOTORS -

LLDLL East Kilbride have completed the signing of former Dumbarton and Morton midfielder Tony Wallace.

The 26-year-old, who spent last season with East Fife, will go straight into the squad for Saturday’s Scottish Cup clash with Albion Rovers.

Wallace had been training with the club, but Kilby boss Billy Stark finally got his man tied down on Monday.

He told the News: “Tony has been about the place for a few weeks and other clubs have been looking at him as well, so I’m delighted to get him.

“We chipped away at him and that’s him on board.

“He done his ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) about seven or eight months ago, so he’s been working his way back from that and that’s maybe been a factor in him not getting an SPFL club.

“But he’s got SPFL pedigree, he’s a good age as well and he will give us something different.

“He can play in different positions and will provide a goal threat for us.”

Wallace also has experience in the Lowland League. He played for current leaders BSC Glasgow in the 2014/15 season, winning the South Challenge Cup with them.
