Skaters in the limelight
Youngsters from East Kilbride Ice Figure Skating Club will have the honour of officially opening M& D’ s Winter Wonder land and outdoor ice rink.
Skaters will perform 27 different numbers ranging from Christmas routines to top tunes from popular musicals.
Club spokeswoman Lauara McCabe said:“Our skaters taking part in this spectacular on-ice performance range from the age of four to 17.
“And they’re carefully choreographed by our talented coaches Yvonne and Silvanna Cameron.
“We will have a real treat in store for everyone.”
The show will be held on Saturday after Santa arrives by train around 11am. The great man himself will take to the ice around 11.15am and the skaters follow straight after for their spectacular.
The Winter Wonder land will be open until Christmas Eve, allowing visitors to skate the open-air ice rink, listen to traditional Christmas storytelling in a heated, all-seater theatre, see reindeer and meet Santa in his grotto.
