Skaters in the lime­light

Young­sters from East Kil­bride Ice Fig­ure Skat­ing Club will have the hon­our of of­fi­cially open­ing M& D’ s Win­ter Won­der land and out­door ice rink.

Skaters will per­form 27 dif­fer­ent num­bers rang­ing from Christ­mas rou­tines to top tunes from pop­u­lar mu­si­cals.

Club spokes­woman Lauara McCabe said:“Our skaters tak­ing part in this spec­tac­u­lar on-ice per­for­mance range from the age of four to 17.

“And they’re care­fully chore­ographed by our tal­ented coaches Yvonne and Sil­vanna Cameron.

“We will have a real treat in store for every­one.”

The show will be held on Satur­day af­ter Santa ar­rives by train around 11am. The great man him­self will take to the ice around 11.15am and the skaters fol­low straight af­ter for their spec­tac­u­lar.

The Win­ter Won­der land will be open un­til Christ­mas Eve, al­low­ing vis­i­tors to skate the open-air ice rink, lis­ten to tra­di­tional Christ­mas sto­ry­telling in a heated, all-seater the­atre, see reindeer and meet Santa in his grotto.
