Graystarsin Scotland victory
Jonny Gray played a crucial role in Scotland’s stunning win over France in the Six Nations on Sunday.
Following last week’s disappointing display in the defeat to Wales, the former Calderglen High School pupil was a star performer in the second row as the Scots came from behind to win 32-26 at Murrayfield.
Tries from Sean Maitland and Huw Jones, plus six penalties and two conversions from Greig Laidlaw, helped deliver the win that revives their campaign.
It will give Gregor Townsend’s side a massive boost going into the Calcutta Cup clash with England on Saturday, February 24. The Scots were hammered 61-21 at Twickenham last year and will be eager to make amends when the Auld Enemy visit Murrayfield.
They will also hope to have Jonny’s brother Richie back in contention after his spell out with a calf injury.
