EK kids toppled by ‘Ton

East Kilbride News - - BASKETBALL -

Morton first team skipper Lee Kilday helped end East Kilbride U20s’ three-game winning run in the SPFL West Development League last week.

The Scottish Championship side gave Kilday 45 minutes for the U20s on his return from injury and the Kilby kids were undone by a Scott Millar goal inside 90 seconds and a second half strike from Alexander Easdale.

Gavin Millar threatened for Kilby when his shot flashed wide of the target and Declan Hughes had his free-kick saved by the Ton keeper.

The defeat came off the back of a 3-2 victory over Queen of the South, where first team star Craig Malcolm, Kian Burns and Fraser Robertson all found the target in a thrilling encounter.

Kilby were due to host third-place Queen’s Park at K-Park on Monday night, but the match was postponed due to snow.
