Kids put through their paces for Sports Re­lief

Pupils at Heath­ery Knowe Pri­mary were put through their paces in aid of Sports Re­lief.

A week of ac­tiv­i­ties was held in the school in­clud­ing cir­cuit train­ing ses­sions which were or­gan­ised by head teacher Julie McKee, who is tak­ing on her own fundraiser this month in a pow­er­lift­ing chal­lenge in aid of Prostate Can­cer UK.

She said:“Rooms 8 and 9 or­gan­ised a fan­tas­tic week of ac­tiv­i­ties for Sports Re­lief at Heath­ery Knowe. They launched the week with an assem­bly fol­lowed by a week of events en­cour­ag­ing chil­dren to move more and be more ac­tive.

“Ev­ery child from nurs­ery to P7 took part in‘Move It Mon­day’with my­self.

“The chil­dren thor­oughly en­joyed their cir­cuit- based train­ing ses­sions and I loved putting them through their paces and chal­leng­ing them.

“The week of ac­tiv­i­ties con­tin­ued with Hu­laTues­day,Walk­ingWed­nes­day, Boo­gie Thurs­day and Footie Fri­day.”
