East Kilbride News - - MEMORY LANE -

A party of 40 staff from the ministry of overseas development faced a challenging three-day assessment of East Kilbride.

They arrived to inspect the facilities the town and its immediate environs had to offer in preparation for the move of the new ministry to a complex within the new town.

There was set to be a festival of music in East Kilbride. Lanarkshire Music Festival was due to come to the new town for the first time and run in the theatre at Claremont High School.

East Kilbride History and Amenity Society held its last public lecture of the season.

But the group was set to start a drive to recruit new members at the start of the next season.
