Camera Club The club recently had its final three-way image competition for the GDPU image league against East Kilbride and Kilmaurs at Kilmaurs in Ayrshire. Unfortunately, Strathaven were beaten on the night into third place, however Kilmaurs Camera Club laid on a tea for all participants and everyone attending enjoyed the night. Annual exhibition entries have now all been handed in for judging, digital images will be judged on April 12 and prints will be judged on April 19. All members who have trophies from last year are reminded to ensure all trophies are returned to the club committee by April 19. On March 22 the club had a tutorial night where videos of how to be creative with flashguns, remove distracting objects from images and astrophotography were shown. The club took a week off on March 29 due to holy week in the Rankin Church. The next meeting will be on Thursday, April 5 when the club hosts Motherwell Camera Club to an informal match an image competition night. After the two judging nights the club will be showing the members individual challenge images from last year on the April 26 and a field trip is planned for the May 3. The club’s year will finish with its prizegiving and annual exhibition in the Rankin main hall on May 10.
