Fly-tip­ping blight Labour East Kil­bride Cen­tral South coun­cil­lor Gerry Con­very has called for more to be done to rid the town and sur­round­ing area of the prob­lem of fly-tip­ping.

It came af­ter build­ing ma­te­ri­als were dumped out­side a block of flats on Telford Road in The Mur­ray, caus­ing anger.

News read­ers also want some­thing done but some feel the coun­cil’s in­tro­duc­tion of charges for up­lifts has added to the is­sue.

Gerry Burns posted:“Maybe not charg­ing for up­lifts etc might help.”

John Baird feels more ex­treme mea­sures are needed to catch the fly-tip­pers.
