A man has been accused of passing himself off as a doctor in a bid to remove a patient from University Hospital Hairmyres.
Stephen Baxter, 56, of Glen Mallie, St Leonards, appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court where he denied attempted fraud and an alternative charge of threatening or abusive behaviour.
It’s alleged he pretended to ward 20 staff“on more than one occasion” between March 7 and March 9 that he was a doctor and that he required access in order to remove a woman from the hospital.
Baxter also denied illegal possession of a knife at East Kilbride police station and failing to attend court on April 10.
Trial was set for July 26 and he was allowed bail. A pre-trial hearing will take place on July 2.
