Greenhills Senior Citizens’ Club hosted a right Royal knees-up.

The bash was held within the local community centre where service users from South Lanarkshire Council day care facilities – Meldrum, Saltire and the Harry Heaney Centre from Rutherglen – attended.

Service users from EK Dementia Carers Group and PCs Colin Elliot and Barry O’Connor mixed with many of those attending on the day– giving advice and listening to concerns.

Club chairman, Councillor Archie Buchanan said: “We had an absolutely terrific afternoon watching two entertainers performing a ‘Right Royal Kneesup’ which included singing and several costume changes with an impersonation of the Queen which was hilarious and very well received by all those attending.”

Anyone wishing to find out more information about the club, which meets every Friday at 1pm within Greenhills Community Centre, can contact Cllr Buchanan on 07748 114555.
