Youngsters at an East Kilbride primary school shone on stage while raising funds to support vital charity work recently.

St Louise Primary’s fantastic talent show, organised solely by the enterprising primary seven pupils, was part of Lenten fundraising activities – with a three-figure sum generated.

Teacher Lorraine Clarke told the News:“The children organised the auditions for the final acts, the certificates, the prizes, the music and props needed, the prizes and even wrote hilarious scripts.

“Pupils’presenting skills were second to none.

“And they encouraged the smaller children to participate, demonstrating their wonderful nurturing skills.

“All the pupils and staff in the school were thoroughly entertained by the wealth of talent from the pupils in the school and they raised £135.”

The total amount raised from activities and events was £500.

This figure will be split between the charities Let the Children Live and Scottish Catholic International Aid Fund (SCIAF).
