Camera Club It has been a busy time the club, who won a friendly match-an-image competition against Motherwell Camera Club on April 5. But the most important events have been the judging of digital images and prints for the club’s annual exhibition. The judging for digital images took place on April 12 and the winners were Christine Chandler with “I’m Watching” in the beginners section and Bob McLachlan with “Sunset over Arran” in the advanced section. On April 19, the judging for the printed image was held and the winners were as follows: Beginners Print Pictorial – “La Rue Charmante” by Rosemary Lewis; Beginners Print Portrait – “Innocent” by Christine Chandler; Advanced Print Pictorial – “The Old Town” by David Spinks; Advanced Print Portrait – “Focussing the mind” by Joyce Manson; Advanced Print Monochrome – “Rush Hour” by David Spinks. The club’s Premier Award given to the best image across both digital images and prints went to David Spinks for “The Old Town”, an image taken in the old town of Carcassonne in southern France. Next up was the individual challenge on April 26. This is where each member can select at random a subject to photograph over the year and present 10 of the best images from their efforts. This was a fun evening with subjects ranging from landscapes to food and ships to flowers, followed by a club studio night on May 3.
