Graham is in the swing

The 2018 Lanarkshire seniors’ championship took place in glorious sunshine at Colville Park Golf Club.

John Ralston of Shotts was the main scratch winner with a score of 72 and the main handicap winner was Graham Murray from Strathaven with a nett 66.

Both players will receive their Frank B Craig trophies at the Lanarkshire presentation dinner in Colville Park on Friday, November.

A total of 107 senior golfers took part in the tournament.

An event spokesman said:“Thanks to Colville Park professional Sam Cairns and committee for hosting the competition The course and facilities were superb.”

●East Kilbride West councillor David Watson has praised East Kilbride Youth Disability Sports Club (EKYDSC) after they won eight prizes at the recent South Lanarkshire Disability Sports Awards.

Councillor Watson described the evening as a“fantastic night”for the club and admitted it was great to see both individual and collective success “acknowledged”. He also hailed the hard work of the volunteers who keep the EKYDSC going.
