Golf club charity effort to the fore
Haven quids in from competition
Strathaven Golf Club selected The Haven as the chosen charity at their recent mixed open.
The Lanarkshire-based group were delighted to attend the event and help raise awareness of the support and services they provide.
A fantastic £405 was also raised from the raffle which took place on the day.
Karen Boyd, community engagement co-ordinator at The Haven, said: “We are extremely grateful to Strathaven Golf Club for supporting us in this way.
“It was great to go along to their mixed open and meet with golf club members and people from all across Lanarkshire to inform them of what we do at The Haven.
“We would like to thank everyone who contributed and raised such a fantastic amount for the charity.”
The Haven provides support to people affected by a range of life-limiting illnesses, their family members and carers and supports people across the whole of Lanarkshire through centres in Blantyre, Wishaw and Forth on a selfreferral basis.
The programme on offer at The Haven is provided by a multidisciplinary team of nurses, therapists and volunteers who work closely together to ensure the highest standard of care.
They also operate a dropin centre with no need for medical referral. All the services are free and totally confidential.
