Gym in big charity push
A gym raised thousands of pounds for Maggie’s cancer centres by carrying out a 24-hour sled push.
Over 100 big-hearted fundraisers took part in the charity challenge at EK Fitness Centre in College Milton.
Gym boss Ian Stevenson told the News he was inspired to raise awareness and funds after a friend was recently diagnosed with breast cancer.
“The fundraiser went really well and we raised £4800,”he said.“We had over 100 people come down and take part in the sled push over the 24 hours.
“We had members of the gym, friends, family and kids come down and support us.
“And they kept us well stocked up on coffee and cake!”
Ian added: “We started at 4pm on Friday, September 7 and pushed the sled until 4pm the next day.
“It never stopped moving for the full 24 hours!”
