Stalk­ing leads to pay­back or­der

A Mur­ray man has ad­mit­ted stalk­ing his former part­ner over a pe­riod of six months.

Jamie Thom, 32, of Kelvin Place, ap­peared at Hamil­ton Sher­iff Court last week.

He ad­mit­ted en­gag­ing in a course of con­duct which caused his ex fear or alarm in Pem­broke, Calder­wood and else­where be­tween De­cem­ber 2017 and June.

The court heard Thom tried re­peat­edly to con­tact his ex via phone calls, texts and so­cial me­dia.

He turned up time and again at her home in an ag­gres­sive state – and also at­tended re­peat­edly at the home of her rel­a­tives.

Thom was handed a com­mu­nity pay­back or­der which in­volves su­per­vi­sion for 18 months and at­tend­ing a so­cial work pro­gramme.
