Mary Kemp’s seasonal fruit suggestions
AS OUR harvest continues in the fields, it also the time to gather, harvest and store in the kitchen. My favourite berry is raspberry and this time of year it becomes the inspiration behind many of my favourite recipes as I bottle and freeze, saving those wonderful summer ingredients for the winter months.
We also have many incredible jam and chutney makers in the county using their amazing talents to create wonderful ranges of tastes in jars.
Sharon Revell, of Orchard Fruit Preserves, found her inspiration for making her own preserves was that was that she wanted the jars to be full to the brim with lovely fruit, to be completely pure and natural, and not too sweet. With the bonus of her partner’s family owning Ashill Fruit Farm she has lots of lovely fruit right there at her fingertips.
