AS THE cold winds whip in and those bright sunlit days come with a chill in the air, it is the perfect time to add a few key pieces to your wardrobe for the season ahead.

This month’s fashion shoot brings together warm, practical clothes which look as great in the city as they do in the countryside.

The clothes were provided by shoot sponsors Ginger, Hatters, Chadds and Jonathan Trumbull, the independent Norwich stores owned by the Kingsley family.

“We wanted a strong outer-wear theme to showcase some of the fantastic coats, suits and knitwear ready for the Norfolk autumn/ winter seasons. Not only are they wonderfully practical, but they look stylish and blend really well in to the natural surroundings, with some beautiful, muted colours,” says Beckie Kingsley, manager of Ginger.

“The super warm duck down feather lined parkas are really practical pieces from luxurious Canadian brands like Mackage, Moose Knuckles, Woolrich and Canada Goose, which will keep even the most intrepid of travellers snug and looking on trend. The Canadians know how to make coats that keep you warm and they are the type of purchase that you will never want to throw away, a real stalwart investment piece. Winter wouldn’t be winter without a selection of fine Italian wool coats from Marella, one of our long standing favourite labels which loves to put a modern twist on a classic, keeping the designs fresh.

“The winter season is made for big chunky knits, especially around Norfolk, and should always be a wardrobe staple. We used creams and pinks for women and navy and oatmeal for men; paired with jeans they are a great autumnal look under the outerwear. Armani are great fitting, classic jeans that last and we also have a great new brand of jeans by DL 1961 which are a wonderful flattering shape.

“For men, on trend parkas and sharp tailored suits will be a key look this season. If you want to be a bit playful, mixing smart tailoring with a countryside twist, we have some fantastic tweed suits from Chadds which look incredibly stylish in any setting.” With a vast selection of hand-picked pieces of knitwear, outerwear, jeans, shirt, suiting and footwear, Jonathan Trumbull and Hatters also stock brands including CP Company, Stone Island, Ralph Lauren, Hackett, Burberry, Paul Smith, Hugo Boss, Filling Pieces, and Gant.
