New brewers on the block Malt Coast score pretty well on the food miles count, as their new craft brews are created using barley grown on the farm that is also home to the brewery. So far Malt Coast, based on Branthill Farm at Wells-next-the-Sea, has two ales on the market, a pale ale and an IPA, with more in the pipeline. www.maltcoast.com
Norfolk’s two Michelinstarred restaurants, The Neptune at Hunstanton, run by Kevin Mangeolles, and Galton Blackiston’s Morston Hall, have retained their coveted awards for 2018.
Eric’s Fish and Chips in Thornham, The Rembrandt in Easton, near Norwich, and Upstairs at No1 in Cromer have been named as three of the UK’s top 20 fish and chip restaurants. They have been shortlisted as semi-finalists for the Fish and Chip Restaurant of the Year Award and will now battle it out for a place in the grand final.
