NEW VENTURE FOR NURTURE PROJECT
The Wells Community Hospital is breaking new ground with a special garden project which will help people living with mild to moderate mental ill-health.
They are joining The Nurture Project, which is based at Kettlestone, to offer indoor and outdoor gardening experiences in the hospital gardens from next month.
Carlyn Kilpatrick, founder of The Nurture Project says, “It has been a long-held view that horticulture has a meaningful therapeutic value, both on a physical and emotional level. Horticultural therapy is an innovative and creative approach to helping people living with mental health issues, such as depression, anxiety or stress.”
The new pilot programme aims to be operational early this year, offering a variety of gardening experiences, as well as indoor horticultural activities. www.thenurtureproject.co.uk
