If I could, I would go to the beach everyday. For me, it is the ultimate therapy for the mind and body. But my aim for 2018 is not just getting to the beach – I manage that pretty well already – but to actually swim more as well. I’m not planning to start quite yet… even with a wetsuit I am nowhere near hardy enough for a wintry dip in the North Sea. But there is something extraordinarily life-affirming about hitting the waves – you come out feeling invigorated, a little bit more in touch with the wild world and, if you do it enough, a little bit healthier.
