TIM TAKES OVER AT WELLS
Tim Lankester is the new chair of the board of trustees of Wells Maltings Trust, the governing body of Wells-next-the-Sea’s new £5m centre for arts, heritage and community.
Tim, who lives in Wells, is a long-time supporter of the arts and joins the board at a pivotal time for the town’s exciting cultural development, with major refurbishment and extension work on the Maltings site nearing completion. It plans to open its doors to the public in the late spring.
“I am tremendously excited by the wonderful new centre and what it will have to offer for everyone in Wells and in neighbouring communities and for our many visitors,” says Tim, who takes over the chair from Peter Lynn.
General manager Simon Daykin adds, “Our key aim is to establish and sustain the Maltings as a thriving, welcoming and vibrant place for everyone to enjoy and call their own: Tim’s passion, commitment, knowledge and experience can help us to do just that.” www.wellsmaltings.org.uk
