WeFiFo – it sounds like an upgrade to your broadband but is actually an interesting dining idea currently doing the rounds.
Wefifo – We Find Food – describes the concept thus: ‘WeFiFo connects home cooks, supper club hosts and food skills event organisers with diners in their local community.” EDP Norfolk joined an assorted group of diners at an al fresco ‘secret supper club’, a collaboration between intu Chapelfield and city bistro The Last Wine Bar in the not-so-secret open space at the entrance to the mall in Norwich.
The Last Wine Bar was in charge of catering and served the happy grazers with an apparently endless supply of canapes before the main event.
Treacle cured smoked salmon with avocado puree and pickled cucumber was followed by exquisitely chargrilled short rib beef under a honey and mustard glaze and, for those who had room, a cheesecake to conclude. It was accompanied by a wine flight which your correspondent, having to drive home, could only enjoy in the tiniest of sips, but was clearly a first-class flight.
We thought it was a delightful experience, once we got past the very public location, and the assembled guests concurred.
