Gar­den ponds should be net­ted to keep out keep fall­ing leaves.

Hy­acinths need 10 to 12 weeks of cool then 2-3 weeks in­side to bloom so should be planted soon for flow­er­ing over the fes­tive pe­riod.

Oc­to­ber is an ideal month for plant­ing while the soil still has some warmth to help plants to es­tab­lish be­fore win­ter.

Make sure the green­house is clean and ster­ilised be­fore bring­ing in plants for win­ter pro­tec­tion.
