EDP Norfolk - - GARDEN GUIDE -

I have a lovely standard fuchsia ‘Dollar Princess’. As it’s a hardy variety will it survive winter outside?

The stems of even hardy standard fuchsias are very susceptible to frost damage so your plant would have to be kept frost-free or it will be frosted back to the base and reshoot from there. If you have a cold greenhouse the stem could be given some protection with pipe lagging and the head with fleece but to ensure success a warm greenhouse heated to around 5C is best; this would keep the plant ticking over until spring.
