Little toddle is a big help
TODDLERS walked or waddled around a Weybridge park in onesies to raise money for two charities, writes Zoe Holehouse.
The sponsored walk was held at Churchfield Recreation Ground last Thursday.
Children, parents and staff at Churchfield House Day Nursery in Weybridge, took to the park to raise funds for Tiny Tickers and Brompton Fountain. Both these charities provide support for parents and their babies who have suspected heart defects.
Churchfield Nursery chose to support those charities as organiser, Jessica Foil, has seen how heart defects can affect a family.
Toni Kirby, nursery manager, was pleased with how the event went. She said: “Jessica organised the event, where parents were able to support and donate through the nursery.
“Some parents walked with the children, who had a wonderful time and we explained to the older children why we were doing it and that we were raising money to help people.”
The nursery’s event has so far raised around £300 for the chosen charities.
