Fete has been kind to us...
Buckland Primary School’s festive bonanza brings in £2,785
A PRIMARY school in Staines is celebrating its most successful Christmas fete, thanks to help from the mascots of Harlequins rugby team.
Harley and Charley Bear were joined by Santa at Buckland Primary School on Friday as £2,785 was raised in celebrating the start of the festive season.
The money will go towards extra-curricular activities, new items and to fund future events.
Headteacher Karima Mould said: “The PTA does a fantastic job arranging our Christmas fete every year. All the money goes to enrich the children’s curriculum by providing workshops and theatre groups during the school year.
“We were delighted that Harley and Charley from Harlequins have been able to join us this year.”
Brad Green, of the school’s PTA, said: “This was my first PTA event and I have been amazed with the sheer hard work and organisation behind the scenes and the input from parents and teachers.
“A special mention must go to our PTA organisers Kate Thacker and Karen Gunn, who work incredibly hard all year round to make it all happen.”
Owen, Maxwell, Brandon, Cody and Brad Green get a thumbs-up from mascots
