THE Village Centre in Englefield Green has been recognised in the first Living and Ageing Well Awards.

Manager Jayne Watson and volunteer driver Jason Myles were invited to a ceremony at Dorking Halls to accept the award on behalf of staff.

The Village Centre borrows a minibus, donated by Harrisons Undertakers, for volunteers to collect elderly locals without means of transport to take them to Egham post office on Thursdays.

“This is a vital service as there is no longer a post office in Englefield Green,” said Jayne.
