ASH­FORD and St Peter’s Hos­pi­tals NHS Foun­da­tion Trust has won three awards at the in­au­gu­ral Doc­tors Ad­vanc­ing Pa­tient Safety (DAPS) Global Awards in Not­ting­ham.

The trust’s Be The Change Cam­paign to im­prove ser­vices won the Most In­no­va­tive Qual­ity Im­prove­ment Project.



was recog­nised in the Best Pa­tient-cen­tred Qual­ity Im­prove­ment Project sec­tion for re­duc­ing the num­ber of painful nee­dle pricks for new­born ba­bies with low blood sugar lev­els.

Par­ent or­gan­i­sa­tion DAPS Global launched the awards this year to recog­nise the work car­ried out by doc­tors in train­ing and med­i­cal stu­dents.

Dr Keefai Yeong, clin­i­cal lead forDAPS at the Ash­ford and St Peter’s Hos­pi­tals NHS Foun­da­tion Trust, re­ceived the Sig­nif­i­cant Con­tri­bu­tion to Qual­ity Im­prove­ment award.

“I am very proud and priv­i­leged to be work­ing with such com­mit­ted ju­nior doc­tors,” he said.

“They are ex­tremely valu­able to our or­gan­i­sa­tion.”
